Believe in the power of community. On some days when you feel big goals are impossible, or when you feel like giving up, you need to lean on your like-minded community. You can even “borrow” motivation, and in turn “return” with your own inspiring stories to pay it forward.

In this special column called the “TLC x Fempreneurs Series”, we will be featuring inspiring Female Entrepreneurs (Fempreneurs) in short. You will be able to have a sneak peek at their mindsets and their daily habits.

Tell us a little about yourself.

I am a certified image consultant and life coach and the founder of Sheens Image Consulting. I also founded a retail fashion handbag line called House of Sheens. Right now I am focusing on my coaching and consulting work as so many people need to feel happier and practice mindfulness due to the strain COVID-19 has put on us.

What got you started on your business?

I am passionate about helping others, so as a Life & Happiness Coach, the work that I do is very fulfilling.

What were some difficulties you faced in your life and how did you overcome them?

I faced lots of insecurities and low self esteem. Through the process of having my own businesses and fighting hard for what I want, as well as becoming a parent, I have tackled each battle and overcame them.

What is your vision / personal motto?

Seeing the beauty and silver lining in each experience.

Who inspires you?

My parents are my biggest inspirations and provide so much love and support to what I do.

Do you have any word of advice for other ladies who are starting their business / starting to pursue their dream?

I always say to expect lows, expect challenges, and rely on who you are, what you have learned and have to get you through each situation.

How do you think you can help ladies to feel confident and empowered?

I think confidence comes from unlocking the things that hold you back personally, acknowledging them, and then learning how to move forward.

What excites you most about your industry?

The ability to help others.

What have you learnt recently that you hope the other ladies can take back?

I learned the lockdown period was a time of reflection on myself as a parent, the love that can be created within a home and the belief that we are made of stronger stuff that we know.

What do you do in your free time as self care? How do you unwind?

I love spending time in the evenings reading, doing face masks, hair masks, my nails, and just spending time in my room with my essential oils unwinding from the day.

What is one thing you are grateful for?

I am eternally grateful for my family and their health.

Let us know more about what you do!

For those you are suffering from anxiety and feel overwhelmed from the added stress to our lives, I encourage you to reach out to a coach to help simplify and add clarity to your life.
